Ongoing Activities

The following list of groups and activities is only a small portion of the various ways in which people in our parish are active in the church community. If you would like further information on any of these, please contact the church office.

Church Network News

Education

Sunday School and Bible Classes (September-June)

Ages three - adult, 9:00-10:15

Nursery School

Based firmly upon Christian principles and teachings, Our Saviour Nursery School, founded in 1965, offers and excellent preschool program for three and four year old children from September to May.

Day Care Center

Established in 1973, Our Saviour Child Development Center provides full and part time day care in a Christian environment for children beginning at 18 months of age. A before and after school program serves children ages 6 through 10.

Ministry of Music

Music is an integral part of worship at Our Saviour. Our worship is enhanced by members of all ages who offer their talents to the Senior and Children's Choral Choirs as well as the Handbell and Children's Handbell Choirs.

Fellowship

Adult Fellowship Club

Members and friends become better acquainted and enjoy Christian fellowship at social activities through the year.

Jubilees

Our Saviour seniors' group enjoys a variety of fellowship activities including shows, concerts, dinners, and luncheons.

Lutheran Youth Organization (LYO)

With adult advisors, the group provides Christian fellowship for youth beginning in seventh grade and enjoys an active role at Our Saviour, including service projects, social activities, and special events.

Junior Youth Group

Our Saviour Junior Youth Group meets monthly for events, activities, and Christian fellowship.

Other Ministries

Women of the E.L.C.A.

Our Saviour Women of the E.L.C.A. meet monthly for social activities, educational programs, and projects serving the congregation, community, and church at large. We work with our local Upstate New York Synod Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the nationwide women's organization for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America

Altar Guild

Members of Our Saviour Altar Guild care for the altar and chancel area of the church, preparing for worship and celebrations of Holy Communion.

Acolyte & Deacon Society

Composed of young boys and girls of the congregation, this group assists with a variety of worship tasks.

Prayer Chain

Members pray daily for the sick, homebound, and other special concerns. Requests are made through the pastor.
