Committees
The Lutheran Church of Our Saviour is organized and run by our various church committees, which are listed below. All members are welcome to attend all of the committee meetings. We are always looking for new committee members, so if you are interested, please feel free to contact us. To find out more about each committee, as well as volunteer opporutunities, click on the links below.
Our Saviour seniors' group enjoys a varity of fellowship activities including shows, concerts, dinners, and luncheons.
Lutheran Youth Organization (LYO)
With adult advisors, this group provides Christian fellowship for youth beginning in seventh grade. The LYO enjoys an active role at Our Saviour, including service projects, social activities, and special events.
The Board of Trustees is responsible for providing ongoing maintenance and oversees all building improvements, additions, and repairs.
The Board for Christian Education oversees the christian education of the children in our church to help strengthen their families.
The Evangelist Committee encourages activities that touch people's lives in a positive way and spreads the word of God and the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour.
The Board of Stewardship encourages stewardship of our members in sharing time, talent, and treasure to support and enhance the mission and ministry of the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour.
The Board of Elders oversees and ensures the quality of worship through the Grace of God; supports and enhances the Christian life of the Congregation; serves as the personnel committee for the church staff; and serves as a support group to the Pastor.
The Finance Committee reviews the church's financial position and oversees the church's budget.
The Music Ministry includes a variety of groups that provide music to enhance our worship experience. These groups include the Adult Choir, Contemporary Worship Team, Handbell Choir, Children's Choir, and the Chime Choir.
Board for Church and Community
The Board for Church and Community performs outreach into the community through such activities as the Adopt-a-Highway program, organizing donations and volunteers for Thanksgiving dinner service at Maggie's House, setting up the Angel tree, and maininting our website.
Our Saviour Women of the ELCA meet monthly for social activities, educational programs, and projects serving the congregation, community, and church at large. We work with our local Upstate New York Synod Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the nationwide women's organization for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Members of Our Saviour Altar Guild care for the altar and chancel area of the church, preparing for worship and celebrations of Holy Communion.
Composed of young boys and girls of the congregation, this group assists with a variety of worship tasks.
Members pray daily for the sick, homebound, and other special concerns. Requests are made through the pastor.
